Juicing with the Nutribullet-Pro Series: Healthy Rewards

Posted on Updated on

nutribulletOnce you start juicing, you won’t feel like turning back. The great thing about juicing your veggies and fruits is that now you can juice without all the mess. There are a variety of Nutribullet recipes that can jump-start your new healthy lifestyle. I have heard a lot about Nutribullet and the Nutribullet Pro, but I was skeptical and thought it wasn’t going to be as good as other juicers. The thing I love about the Nutribullet is that there is no mess, little clean up, and no wasting an ounce of precious nutrients from your veggies or fruit that you’d ordinarily throw away.

I have had juicers that were 3 times the cost and I absolutely hated the messy clean up. Plus, the more veggies and fruit you juice the more you invite fruit flies. EEK. So, here’s what I tend to put in my juice:

Juice:

  • Almond Milk (Unflavored, Vanilla, or Dark Chocolate)
  • Water

Veggies

  • Kale (Regular Kale and Tuscan or Black Kale)
  • Spinach
  • Beets
  • Cucumber
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Bok Choy
  • Cabbage (Red & Green)
  • Green Chili Peppers (once in a while)

Fruit

  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Blackberries
  • Rasberries
  • Mango

Nuts & Seeds

  • Almond Meal
  • Flax Seed Meal

These are the general ingredients that I like to mix and match. I don’t have specific measurements, I just tend to feel it out and see what I want to drink that morning. If it is all green or mostly green, I will choose from the vegetables such as kale, celery, cucumber, spinach, that sort of mixture. But, there isn’t really a bad mixture when it comes to juicing in my opinion. For future posts, I’ll include the specific measurements and exact ingredients. For now, try getting your feet wet and if you have a juicer, play around and mix and match your veggie preferences with fruit.

The three main ingredients that I definitely use regarding protein powder or supplements are the following:

  • Pea Protein Powderjuicing
  • L-Glutamine
  • Maca Powder

For all three I follow the measurement directions. It is usually one scoop for the the protein powder, one scoop of L-Glutamine, and one teaspoon of Maca Powder.

Pea protein is especially good for those interested in an alternative protein powder that is dairy and soy free. L-Glutamine is helpful for those who have started exercising more. It is great for muscle recovery and building healthy muscle. You can take it before and or after your work out. Finally, Maca powder is essential for libido, hormonal balance, and it customizes itself to the individual. In other words, Maca powder helps balance whatever hormone that is off in your body. It also provides you with refreshing energy, you almost don’t even need a cup of coffee. Due to the boost of energy it gives you, it’s recommended to take it in the morning. I drink it with my morning protein shake.

It’s always great to add a little pep-in-your-step and what better way than to start drinking your vitamins. Since I started using the Nutribullet Pro, I have lost 15 pounds and dropped from a size 6, to a size 0. Hope you get inspired too and start juicing.
